This white paper describes factors impacting LGBTQI+ people’s participation in democratic and civic life around the world in 2024, including laws, visibility, civil society engagement, and more. It was produced as part of the Global LGBTQI+ Inclusive Democracy and Empowerment (GLIDE) Initiative by Outright International, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), and the Synergía Initiative for Human Rights.
I performed the survey data analysis, produced the data visualizations, and provided interpretation and translation for Portuguese-language key informant interviews while working at IFES.
